The GE MR16 12V Dichroic Mirror 50mm Low Voltage Lamps GU5.3 cap are low voltage tungsten halogen reflector- mounted lamps popular for down-lighting and accent lighting applications.
The Precise Standard MR16 is GE lamps compact MR-16 low-voltage halogen dichroic "cool beam" reflectorized spot and flood lamps.
The Cover Glass (closed) versions incorporate an integral clear lens to ensure that both bulb and reflector are protected from dust and dirt during installation and operation. The cover glass effectively eliminates UV- C radiation and greatly reduces UV- B radiation.
The closed versions use the same reflectors as the open versions – and hence have the same dimensions, allowing users to interchange lamps at will.

NB: If your old lamp has a GX5.3 base then you can use either a GX5.3 or a GU5.3 cap type lamp as a replacement. Only when you have a GU5.3 base must a GU5.3 cap lamp be used.
