Thermo Group UK's Thermoprotect Xtra Frost Protection Trace Heating Cable is self regulating cable with extra power - the output is variable and is rated at 30w/m at 10c meaning that the cable can react quickly to differences in temperature all the way along it’s length and maintain an even temperature even if one end of the pipe is frozen and one is not.
This feature is particularly useful for pipes that run from inside to out or water tanks that require complete protection, but have particularly vulnerable areas.
In addition to protecting metal piping from freezing, the Thermoprotect cables can be used for other applications including trace heating for use in gutters and around gulleys to prevent freezing and snow build up.
