Later this week, London is set to turn into a chatter of high-falutin' fashion models, sunglasses worn indoors and ill-advised tartan as London Fashion Week descends on the capital.
And while short-lived trends like skirts for men or shaved eyebrows are expected to come and go, if you're looking for inspiration for your home then taking cues from the runways for your hallways is a great place to start.
Luckily, stylist and makeover queen Nicky Hambleton-Jones is front row in dishing out inspiration for those looking to undertake a trendy home makeover.
And when it comes to furnishings and t-shirts alike, big bold prints are set to make an impact.
"This spring/summer, it's all about embracing the techno print," says the expert. "The brighter, the bolder, the better is the policy."
Whether it's wallpapering an accent wall with a brave print or contrasting plain LED lamps with explosively-pattern cushions, a mix of bold prints and plain, tasteful furnishings is set to be popular in fashion and interiors.
And textures are set to make an impact in 2012 as well, according to Ms Hambleton-Jones.
The stylist said: One of the more daring looks emerging for S/S 2012 is the use of touch, industrial-esque textures and fabrics such as plastic, rubber, glazed cotton and chainmail metal."
You needn't turn your home into an industrial building site replete with an exposed electric central heating boiler and fluorescent lighting to capture the trend, though - a texture flooring solution is a rugged, hard-wearing way to stay cutting edge.
But the stylist has some final advice for those who are one roll of rubber wallpaper away from being a fashion victim.
"It's wonderful to embrace the exciting trends which have emerged for the new season and although I'm always one to encourage people to be that little bit more creative and daring, I think it's still incredibly important to maintain your own personal sense of style and taste."
